DIALOGICITY OF FAITH

Faith perceives life as a dialogue, whereas unbelief perceives life as a monologue. Faith can be silent and listen, ask and respond, that is, live responsibly.

Its opposite (also happens to people who seem to have strong religious beliefs) is existential unbelief, which un...

MEETING OF GOD & HUMAN

At the end of some Gospel stories about healing, Jesus says to the healed: "Your faith has helped you." This means: "I did not heal you by external action, without your participation)." But it does not mean that "you healed yourself by your own strength or by the strengt...

INSPIRED WITH BYZANTINE CATHOLIC CHURCH

Byzantine Catholicism offers the human imagination a richer source of inspiration. It offers a world of stories and mysteries, candles and incense, legends and relics, solemn processes and the quiet semi-darkness of stained-glass churches.

One of the best Ukrainian Catholic churches. Very beautiful inspiring parish! Stained glass windows, icons, flowers, church singing, a priest, all contribute to sincere prayer and conversation with God.

Very cozy Ukrainian Catholic church. They are helping Ukraine in its disaster sufferings from russian war. Father Ruslan is always available and reachable. I like that they have Masses both in Ukrainian on Sundays and English language on Saturday evenings. Especially, I like the Byzantine rite and the smell of incense People are very friendly.

The church held a food fare today and in spite of the cold weather, it was very nice. They had pierogi's, borscht, kielbasa, sauerkraut, desserts and Ukrainian items for sale. The church itself, is quaint and so very peaceful.

WHO ARE EASTERN CATHOLICS?

The one, holy, catholic and apostolic church is a communion of particular churches, each united in faith and headed by a bishop in communion with the bishop of Rome.

The Catholic Church is thus a body of 24 “sui iuris” (autonomous) churches.
Having more than 1 billion members, the Latin Church, utilizing the Roman rite, is by far the largest of the sui iuris churches. The other 23 sui iuris churches, among which is also Ukrainian Catholic Church, are known collectively as the Eastern Catholic churches.

While sharing the same faith, each ritual tradition has its own unique way of celebrating the sacraments; its own ecclesial governance; its own particular architecture and iconography; and its own cherished saints and devotions.
